Double Edged slider come back from BlackBerry with PRIV

BlackBerry seemed to be on a similar free fall journey as our Nokia. As weird and seemingly out of touch as their offerings had been over the past year (others might say BB know their market), BlackBerry’s finally producing their own Android (and a high end one at that. Something we might have been hoping for Nokia to do as well).

What struck me first was the design. It kinda reminded me a bit of the N9 and some older Nokia concepts.

Like my current phone and favourite designed phone of the moment, the S6 Edge (plus), the PRIV has a double curved display. But it also has a slide out keyboard (which can then act as a touchpad).

Check out the multitask view on the first screenshot. Is that specific to BB? It looks a lot better than these useless card stacks I currently have on my S6E+.

I’m not quite sure about the screen being slightly raised.  I like BlackBerry’s persistence.

Maybe Nokia could revive one of their old designs with a modern touch too? N95 or N97 modern slick slider? Perhaps too much to ask given the aim of simplicity with Nokia branded devices (e.g. N1).
