Think your Newyears was amazing? Did you celebrate new years 7 different times in 7 time zone in one night? NO? well here’s a chance to redeem yourself! The Chinese New Years kicks in on Jan 23rd, and the thoughtful people at Vertu know that one must embrace the spirit of the dragon (It is the year of the dragon after all), hence the launch of three new devices; now of course these aren’t any plain old devices you can choose from three different combinations: stainless steel and emerald, black stainless steel and ruby or yellow gold and diamond models. (I guess this is what Billionaires do rather than buying different colored battery doors for their Lumia 710s).

Of course the phone is more about looks than power which means it could have a VGA camera and run S40 and it wouldn’t make a difference (seriously though it’s probably running S60 or S^1 as is the tradition).

Each phone will only cost about $26,800 so if you really want to prove you got money why not get all three? And to sweeten the deal Vertu will throw in a free one year concierge service a leather case and charging cradle, along with certification for the precious stones.

I wonder if Nokia are offering trial devices?

Yes, that’s right. Nokia really made this and intended real people to use it.

The CP-218 holds and protects most Nokia devices as you stay in shape. Listen to music, stay in touch, and when you’re done put it through the wash with the rest of your kit.

Maybe it’s best to take your N95 or whatever device out before putting it in the wash?

Hmm, some applications in sport may make this feasible. Use it anywhere else and you’re begging for strange looks.

The N73 has often been regarded as a slightly feminine phone. Anything in pink officially stamps it as “for the girls”.

Back in February, Darla Mack reported of a pink N73 I.E. (above) at the Hong Kong Site.

Over at JUSTAMP there’s a live pic of the actual pink N73.

Whilst it’s nice that Nokia and other manufacturers bring out these different coloured ‘versions’ of their phones, I’d just like it if they let us have purpose built user changeable fascias. I’m aware there are those have grown tired with fascias, but isn’t it great to be able to change the look of your entire device? Not just the look, but if something were to break or scratch, just simply put a new one on without the need of tools.

What’s also great is that the general lay person will think you’ve got a brand new phone, no matter how many times you’ve previously tried to explain it’s just a different cover.

Currently the N95 allows for easy swapping of the back covers. Not really much choice out there though between the silly fake eBay ones and the expensive OEM versions…
