The FCC, the final frontier for any USofA bound device… As you can see the FCC people got their shiny rulers and pointy screwdrivers all over the lumia 800 tearing it down to make sure it meets their standards for a US based cellular device (we presume it passed with flying colors). Surprisingly though it appears not to pack the T-Mobile specific antenna frequency ’1700 MHz AWS ‘ which means it probably won’t be joining the 710 in their line-up.

Anyone feel like playing phone doctor??

We have seen the Lumia 710 posted on Nokia USA’s website since the Lumia was first launched. We have also had posts, with regards to T-Mobile announcing a Nokia Windows phone next week.

This NWP has all been but confirmed to be the Lumia 710, until now. FCC listings, show the user manual of the Lumia 710, to have T-Mobile branding. In my opinion, this, along with what we already know, packages everything together to prove that T-Mobile will be unveiling the Nokia Lumia 710 next week.

Shame really, as the Lumia 800 would probably sell better based on design and specs, and have, what I believe, to be a better chance at putting Nokia back on the US map. We’ll see what they do. Who knows, CES 2012 may bring the Lumia 900 to the US.

Do you think Nokia should have brought the 800 over the 710 to the US? Or should they have just gone all out straight away with the Lumia 900? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

After trawling through some FCC pages, I came across a new device that was passed just today. It is a Wireless Music Receiver known as MD-20W. This was something revealed at Nokia Connection in Singapore earlier this year. It operates on Bluetooth via the 2.4 gHz range, and, like Play 360, supports NFC. Tipped to give Apple Airplay a run for its money, this audio device can play music from your phone to your stereo. It boasts an indoor range of 30 metres while (apparently) being able to be used up to 100 metres outdoors.

To me, the FCC image and the specs I’ve read about sound a lot like another NFC-enabled music receiver, the MD-310. The MD-310 specs are as follows, as listed on the Nokia Site.

Previously announced Nokia MD-310

Wireless entertainment

Play music wirelessly from your device on your home entertainment system through a stereo Bluetooth connection.

Control tracks from your phone without any wires.

With a range of up to 100 m, you can move freely about your home as you enjoy your music.

High-quality audio

Enjoy your tracks in crisp CD-quality sound with aptX™ digital audio technology.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) support ensures high-quality stereo streaming through Bluetooth.

Music streamed from the internet sounds clean and clear – without the distortion you might expect.

Easy to install and use

Installation is easy – just plug the audio cable into your home stereo jack.

Connect to your compatible Bluetooth device with one press of a button.

Or tap your NFC-enabled phone to the receiver to pair instantly.

When not in use, conveniently store the cable by winding it around the spool.

Universally compatibility

Compatible with a wide range of phones, music players, laptops, netbooks and computers.

Connect to any stereo system with a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.

Use the included RCA adapter for extended compatibility

Just to clarify, the above information and the above image is for the already available MD-310.

We’ve brought you stories regarding other phones that have been found on the FCC’s site. I found this the other day, but didn’t really think much of it. I’ve decided today that maybe one of our readers can help me identify what this is. It’s the only image found on the FCC page.

Never before have i seen a device with the model naming RH-xxx, only RM-xxx and RX-xxx. The RM models have typically been for Mobile Handsets eg. N8, 5800 etc., while the RX scheme has been used for Mobile Computers eg. N900 and the Nokia Booklet. However, after some searching, I uncovered that RH-xxx is actually the scheme used in several phones already, but with very low end specs, eg. Nokia 6230.

I’ve read through the documents on the page and it appears it may be one of the China variants. From what I’ve read and understood:

- Dual Band GSM (850/1900)
- Single Sim
- BL-5CB Battery (800 mAh)
- <del>Bluetooth</del>
- <del>Not sure about WLAN (FCC report includes it, yet no equipment number)</del>
- Standard AC-3E charger
- Standard 3.5mm headphone socket
- Expandable MicroSD Memory (Just a guess based on the above image)
- <del>Dimensions: 330 x 16 x 12</del>
- <del>Not sure about boasting a camera as FCC doesn’t need to include this info. However, the image above suggests it may. (The purple square).</del>

Here’s the link to the FCC if anyone can uncover any more information.

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports…

Know what phone this variant is of ? Have any ideas about a future device it may be ? Seen anything on FCC ? Drop us a comment about it below. You never know, it may lead to an entire post like Oho.

Update: Dimensions are apparently for the testing equipment used. Also, what I thought was camera is apparently the loudspeaker. Cheers to muhk21 & NokiaPort.de for clearing these up.

Here’s the FCC image: On the Software side of things, I have more doubts. The UI on JooJoo doesn’t look like it could be similar to what we saw in the Sneek Peak of TabCo’s UI. By similar, I’m referring to the use of the menu bar. It looks like it could be derived from the same UX, but that is just speculation. The TabCo Menu bar looks more like what we would expect to come from MeeGo. I’ve put a comparison photo of the UI from Fusion Garage’s first device and the one TabCo gave us a glimpse of. Reports are that the “Grid 10″ or “JooJoo 2″, will run on Android. This is the only thing that is drawing some doubts. Whether or not this company is Fusion Garage, Nokia, Intel, or even just simply TabCo, they have raised a lot of attention. If they can manage to bring an innovative tablet to the market they may do well. They definitely have the right marketing approach. Jay: Plus when the video for TabCo UI was first shown, it was titled, “The Grid Teaser” after which it was promptly removed and replaced. If it is JooJoo, I’m certainly NOT interested. Cheers Oho for the tip! UPDATE: TabCo are Fusion Garage! Michael
