Glenn, aka Nova G emailed to tell us about his newest work, a theme called, Refresh (in Aqua)

You’ll notice a very prominent new icon styling that resembles some old Nokias (7600 and 7610).

This one is called Great Black v2 by Ru1eZ. It sports its own keyboard design, and is another dark theme that’s very good for AMOLED screens. The icon set is Anna.

That wallpaper makes more sense in landscape.

The 11 O’Clock theme (BST) moves to something slightly lighter again. This is a premium theme that is temporarily free. This one is by PiZero Design.

This has a very autumn feel with those orangey-yellow bokeh light things going on there.

Next up on the themes list from DM is called “Dark Illusion” by AttisX. This uses its own icon set and a very nice glassy look. This is the lite version.

Hello Folks. As I said in the last theme post:

Today we’ll be showing quite a bit of themes that DM tipped us yesterday. Since I may not be on a computer until evening GMT time (moving back to Manchester), I thought that would be a good opportunity to show some very nice themes. You’re definitely going to want to check those out as they look great.

As promised, the first one I want to share from DM’s list is WoodBerry by O3one Kinetics - I’d suggest getting it now whilst it is free at Ovi Store.

It has a classic, mysterious looking dark panelling wallpaper going on there which is consistent throughout the theme. Overall, it works together and does look great.

Themes: Sky by Hank – Free at Ovi Store

This theme is a very blue theme, with minimalist square icons of its own (though default/Anna icons will permeate if you have it).

This is called Sky by Hank and it’s Free at Ovi Store.

Themes: NK’D Transparent black and white theme for S^3

Another day another theme. After seeing our post on the transparent S^3 theme, RagzReddy emailed us asking to try his transparent theme too.

He’s given us his dailymobile page but as made by comments in last email, if you’re not a member there and don’t want to sign up just to download a theme, RagzReddy also gives us a direct download link via mediafire.

This is pretty much completely see through. See the keyboard and dialpad has no key separation either. Apparently there’s a way to make the wallpaper show through (as we learn, like Maemo 5 is coming to Belle) but I don’t know how to do that.

This installs as NK’D (nekked?).

Is a very nice black and white minimalistic theme.

It’s a great looking transparent theme you’ll find installed as “GetUp_by_Manish” by manishgedam. It comes in three variations, one for Belle, one with a leaf background and one plain background. Install the .sis file directly to your phone (preferably Mass Memory, so as not to touch “C” but to prevent the theme disappearing when you pop out your memory card.

It’s a nice fresh looking theme.

You’ll notice that the options tab list is nice and transparent. The wallpaper isn’t though and you’ll be stuck with that leaf. But that’s what the black version is for. It looks very nice everywhere except perhaps in Email view where it’s quite unreadable. The black version looks very nice there.

Here’s the black background. Everything shows up well except the signal/battery bars and titles.

Makes me wish Symbian allowed Maemo style backgrounds – you know, where the homescreen wallpaper is still visible in app menu view.

As you can see the signal/battery bar and title isn’t that visible

Feel free to suggest other themes for us to showcase. Maybe your own work if you’re a themer or someone else’s theme that you really like.

Here’s a theme I came across on Ovi Store as its one of their featured themes. It is called Glass Apple, a black, grey tone theme that looks extra nice with the Anna icons.

Themes: MeeGo Maximo by NovaG

Here’s a new theme from NovaG that he calls MeeGo Maximo. It’s got the MeeGo/Anna set of icons. You can get this free at Ovi Store, and the plus version is compatible with S605th.

Hopefully we can showcase about one theme a week at least. The tags used will be Themes for general themes and S^3 Themes for Symbian^3 specific ones. They’ll most likely overlap since S^3 is the only version of symbian handset I use now.

Also, thank you for the theme suggestions from last week’s post. We’ll post something new from that next week.
