In case you don’t have time to read the full report; here’s a wuick overview of Nokia’s Q1 2013 financials that were announced earlier today:
- Net loss of $196 Million dollars ($55 Million from devices, and $127 million in Here maps)
- Net revenue is a huge improvement over last years Q1 profit which showed a loss of $1.75 Billion
- Lumia sales increased to 5.6 Million from 4.4 Million last quarter
- Lower number of total smartphones were sold than Q1 2012, but Lumias are bringing in a higher profit margin than the Symbian devices that have been phased out, average smart device price rose from €186 ($243) to €191 ($249)
Overall the results are promising as Nokia have limited their expenditures and costs while slowly gaining in the market; sure they’re nowhere near being number one again, but it’s a good start.
