This might not be the first time you’ve seen comparisons with the iPhone 6 plus and a Lumia. When Lumia brought OIS, our cameras photos had insane low light and our videos looked so much smoother in comparison to the earthquake present in the scenes of the competition. But now OIS is becoming a standard. […]
Back in November, settings had to be changed for S40/Symbian to continue using Nokia Mail. Even though the Nokia Mail and Nokia Chat is still welcoming people to sign up for a new account, you can’t actually make a new account because it is being discontinued. Data to be destroyed in 6 months Transitioning of Nokia […]
Goal is for “Majority” of WP8 and WP8.1 Lumia phones to get Windows 10; Lumia 2520 no W10 as RT is dead
The word on twitter prior to this official statement at Lumia Conversations was that Lumia on WP8 would get Windows 10. Over at Lumia Conversations, their FAQ bit isn’t exactly as straight forward as : Does that mean that today’s Lumia devices can be upgraded to Windows 10? http://lumiaconversations.microsoft.com/2015/01/22/the-lumia-you-love-gets-even-better-with-windows-10/ We’re making it as easy […]
HERE for Gear is Nokia’s HERE navigation on Samsung’s Gear smartwatches. Apparently it does all the things expected from smartwatch mapping: you can see your location on a map select your destination get turn-by-turn walk navigation get public transit directions and download maps for offline use Completely offline access.
Play your Xbox One games on any Windows 10 PC or tablet (no phone? : ( ) That’s still pretty cool though. Does the Xbox need to be on or does it work with things saved in the cloud?
Office for Windows will come with Wireless Printing. That’s great if you can get your wireless printer to work. I have an Epson and it decides when it wants to print (either on PC/Mac). Also the email experience gets some MS Word level editing in it too.
Having the new Office for mobile on iOS angered a lot of users. Finally it’s here on Windows for phones. Source: 1 | 2

No not really. This week there were rumours of Sony considering selling off their mobile division as their Android Xperia devices weren’t making the sales they needed. They were already in the process of “streamlining” aka trimming down, their mobile portfolio and concentrate on a few but great devices. Sony had some strong potential; cybershot, handycam, vaio, […]
A couple of related posts – both PocketNow and TheVerge share their feedback on the new Lumia Camera with Lumia denim and they’re really impressed, in particular with Rich Capture. PocketNow finds the 930 to take some of the best smartphone photos they’ve ever seen on a mobile device. 8.3MP shots from 4K video […]
A new Lumia with Nokia is a thing of dreams, so here’s a reappearance of a MyDreamNokia concept post. This is the Nokia Lumia J. Chamfered shiny edges – ahh, these give me fright as they scratch so easily. This one’s cool – LED lights certainly do grab attention. This would work in awesome combo […]
The Microsoft Garage Team is bringing some more improvements to their “Next” lockscreen for Android. I’ve really missed pressing the volume button to see music controls or having a look at the lock screen to see my music controls (the touchwiz lock has this but the Next lock covers it up). Now, I’ve got that […]
Nokia’s N1 for just China alone seems to be doing a pretty good job. The first batch of 20,000 units sold out in minutes and it seems the second batch has done the same (same number?). It’s a great way to keep the Nokia brand out there; a tablet more powerful on paper than the […]
Lumia Denim Promo: Claims to be the fastest and most intuitive photo taking experience on smartphone. EVER.
Here’s an official hands on demo with Lumia Denim. Having Kristina Björknäs, a Finnish Nokian now Microsoftie doing the demo makes it feel like part of the good old days :). You may remember Kristina from the 1020 launch. She’s a physicist who is passionate about imaging.
