Meego Tablet UI concept

| August 21, 2010 | Comments (23)

Meego has been an interesting new OS so far already being written off by the usual suspects mainly because Nokia are the main customers so to say, but people forget that there are a lot of partners that comitted themselves to use Meego such as the Automotive powerhouses from Germany such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche and Audi so for people making fun of Meego it isn’t only for Nokia but also for other tech companies out there. And remember Windows as it is doesn’t work on a tablet with HP buying Palm for Web OS if they see some good efforts from Nokia and others they might jump the ship

thanks to Jim for the heads up

This looks awesome! I wonder how it will do on battery management though coz these kind of graphics might mean requiring enough juice.

Something that large they could get away with it easier due to a lot more room for a larger battery. That plus a device like this isn’t meant to really be mobile, so charging won’t be far away by any means.

      Looks very cool, very promising.

    John, check email please. Thanks.

Someone told me that basically Meego+ QT can product whatever GUI you can imagine. It really up to the ability of imagination and the consideration of usability as a whole factor especially.

Question: When the meego phone is finally released, will there be enough apps available for download? There were 70 apps for the N900 when I bought it in December with no Ovi store support. Hopefully, this will not be the case for N8 and the N9. Like to hear hear people’s thoughts.

    • Keith says:

Its all based on Qt so existing OVI apps will work on both N8 and MeeGo phones. Plus, there will be special Qt apps for S^3 and MeeGo too………….

  5. Yougo says:

Nokia needs to work with top ten app and games developers to make app and games based on qt

    top ten iphone games developers
top ten iphone apps, google earth, yahoo im and flickr, tvuplayer, livestation, garmin and tomtom sat nav,

    • Andre says:

I wouldn’t want the overpriced garmin or tomtom anywhere near my Nokia.
The other app developers would be welcomed though :)

    just awesome place

  7. Dennis says:

Will the apps be available when these phones will be out? It sounds like it is going to happen or will it be like a new gun without any bullets? The sneak peeks show exciting potential but is reality soon or sometime next year? Hopefully, Nokia is updating the Ovi store for the release of the N8 next month. I guess we’ll see.

  8. Dennis says:

Sounds great. Thanks for the info.
