A tipster on the NokNok site gave some information for the specs for Nokia’s monster running Meego:
- 4 inch OLED screen (resolution of 800 x 480 pixels)
- 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor
- 512 MB of RAM
- 1 GB of system storage
- 64 GB internal memory
- 720p HD video recording
- 802.11 b/g/n, HSPA+
- A-GPS
- Bluetooth 2.1
Now I don’t know about you guys but if these specs are true my money is reserved for Nokia for the supposesd December release date

stop with your cortex it’s ridiculous, nokia work with qualcomm so it will be a snapdragon (i hope it will be the dual core one, i alredy get an HD2)
take a look on it :
Specifically, we’ve settled with Quallcomm, partnered with Intel on MeeGo, Microsoft on Office, and Yahoo on Messagin
from : http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/06/nokias-vp-talks-n8-meego-milestone-product-tablets-android/
ps : spec are fake
ps 2 : sry for my english
Settled with Qualcomm gives no indication that there will be any qualcomm processors worth using in the future.
Furthermore I think that the anemic GPU’s in Qualcomm’s mobile processors would be a deterrent for any mobile vendor.
yeah as i said snap’s gpu is terrible slowest..
for example with android neocore benchmark:
desire (snap cpu/gpu) about 25fps
galaxy s (hummingbird) about 60fps!!
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTc5NTM5OTgw.html
DAMN ,IT’S FASTER!
it is a false problem because with decent drivers the snapdragon gpu is as good as cortex gpu
year 2008 Nokia settled patent dispute with Qualcomm for WCDMA, believe me.
it won’t be snapdragon. and I can give you a solid reason. today it is a post about the improvement of qt 4.7 the next available version ( in beta now): http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2010/08/24/improving-the-rendering-performance-with-more-simd/
quote: “In Qt 4.7, we extended our usage of SSE on x86, and of Neon on ARM Cortex processors. By using SIMD in more places, we’ve gained between 2 and 4 times the speed in some uses cases.”
thx for the information
i think for a TI OMAP platform
nokia uses TI platform from years (example N95=OMAP2..N900=OMAP3)
NOT snapdragon
ok so i was wrong
like I said before it will be cortex 100% or else they wouldn’t bother to improve qt speed for arm cortex : http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2010/08/24/improving-the-rendering-performance-with-more-simd/
“In Qt 4.7, we extended our usage of SSE on x86, and of Neon on ARM Cortex processors. By using SIMD in more places, we’ve gained between 2 and 4 times the speed in some uses cases.”
thx twice xD
pentium 3 in early 2000 was the first desktop cpu to use SIMD technology! that’s great
anyway design of this N9 is very beautyfull!!
ps.
100th post!!
I just realised, it won’t be a snapdragon processor, the snapdragon will be in a Symbian phone which everyone is guessing to be the E7 – other 4 inch screen, slide-out qwerty phone.
E7 is for business purposes not for gaming/multimedia so snap’s could be good
No, Qualcomm is ridiculous. The whole Meamo platform is optimized for OMAP support as I’ve been told. It has been said here before but rumors are that the MeeGo on this N9 is actually a rebranded Meamo 6/Harmattan thus it makes sense that it will use a variant of TI’s OMAP platform.
Can’t wait for Nokia World.
i’ll be there off course!
Over hundred of comments
yeah our compliments to John Wiegand-forson for the best post ever on mynokiablog!
the N9 will be nokias most expensive phone at $895 and launches 30th Nov the specs are confirmed except the battery is 1500 using tosh flash 64GB via Jar Grund a graphic designer based in espoo not nokia staff an external contractor blurb on facebook click link here N9 to be announced at meego expo the box is silver with a 9 on it all sides
forgot the link?
and which specs? there are a couple of versions around
“the N9 will be nokias most expensive phone” E90 PLEASE…………900EURO!!
i don’t belive to any your words man
It’s a project of Nokia and Intel to create a chip for device, http://www.semiaccurate.com/2010/02/08/intel-and-nokia-make-chip/
thx for the link jean
and for the nokia n9 i think the chipset will be the ST-Ericsson U8500
http://blog.qt.nokia.com/2010/02/15/welcoming-meego-to-the-qt-community/
” are TI OMAP4 used for a Qt based contextual web browser demo running on two screens and ST-Ericsson U8500 using the new ARM Mali GPU for a Qt based next generation UX on set top boxes or mobile phones.”
http://www.stericsson.com/press_releases/Q22010_pr.jsp
“Nokia recently awarded ST-Ericsson a number of design-wins, selecting its HSPA+ and LTE modem solutions for new products, as well as new design wins related to the U8500 solution.”
so what’s the consensus, are these specs anywhere near accurate?
Or do they have very little basis in legitimate sources?
these cpecs are wrong. its 1,2 ghz and 7xx of ram and screen is unknown
The First MeeGo Operating System In Nokia N9
Full Detailed Specification at http://www.techmazter.com/2010/12/first-meego-operating-system-in-nokia.html
MeeGo is a joint venture by the leading Smart Phone manufacturer Nokia and famous microprocessor manufacturer Intel. The Nokia N9 may be the first Smart Phone by Nokia working on MeeGo Operating System. It is almost similar to Nokia N8 and Nokia E7 in design and structure. The Nokia N9 has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor and 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM gives great navigation in the device and video streaming when compared to other Smart Phones.
Utter crap…
Just a rehashing of what’s already been speculated earlier in the year.
Even that speculation wasn’t officially confirmed by Nokia.
