MeeGo devices this year? Intel says no.

Well in news that’s sure to bum out a number of us both here and elsewhere in the blogosphere, it would seem that we won’t be seeing any actual MeeGo devices (in our own hands at least) before the first half of 2011.

Doug Fisher, Vice President of Intel’s Software and Solutions Group and General Manager of Intel’s Systems Software Division stated quite clearly in a recent interview that while pleased with the progress MeeGo is making and the consistent meeting of deadlines, consumers would have to wait until next year to see and purchase them.  Bummer! 🙁

As part of that interview, he also intimated that another handset maker was in talks concerning adopting MeeGo for their future devices. He conveniently neglected to mention the name of this manufacturer of course.
