Lee Williams, Symbian Executive Director steps down.
Wow, that came straight out of nowhere, but it seems that the Symbian Foundation’s Executive Director (CEO if Symbian was a PLC or LLC) has stepped down from his position with IMMEDIATE effect.  Supposedly “personal reasons ” are the reason for his resignation but that seems to have been a common line for all of the Nokia-associated executives that have stepped down as of late. Not sure what the root cause of this sudden, unexpected change is/was or what knock-on effects this may have on Symbian in the future. However, business is moving on as usual it seems with former CFO of Symbian, Tim Holbrow taking the reigns in what seems to be a permanent appointment by the Board of Directors.
How many more senior executives involved in Nokia’s recent stagnation in the high-end market will be sent on their way in the coming weeks? Â Is this a sign of good things to come from the Finnish giants or is it a tale of rats fleeing a sinking boat?
