While I’m sure a significant number of you are wondering and fearing that like a number of Nokia sites and blogs around the internet, that we will be closing up shop and giving up on Nokia and Symbian. I can say that personally I have no intention of abandoning my current post.  I will continue to cover all Nokia related news so long as the company is still a publicly traded and independent company.

Of course looking at current stock prices and the calamitous dip thusly associated, that may not be the case in another 2 years or so, but I would like to make sure I take the time out today to reaffirm that in spite of the negativity surrounding Nokia’s fans, decisions and future, we will be there to cover it, provide tips, ideas, showcase devices and on occasion the odd leak (of course now less likely due to Microsoft’s involvement). We will be here and we hope that you all, in spite of whatever slights you feel you may have suffered, will be here with us too.

Please keep supporting Nokia and telling us news about it, MyNokiaBlog.

I regularly check out your blog along allaboutsymbian, you both are my greatest source for nokia news and updates :)

Well, i admit it, this move by nokia hurts me. A lot. But i realize, the hardest thing to show our love isnt keep supporting it as it is, but to keep our love and keep supporting it even if itself changes. Err sorry for my bad english, not a native speaker.

Ellop may wasted the great effort and billion dollars invested in symbian, meego, and Qt. The next 2 years sure will be like in hell for Nokia, and for us, nokia fans. But, who knows what’s coming in future? Maybe Ellop sees next one or two decades Nokia will evolve and has much brighter technology and ecosystem collaborating with Microsoft. And the most important thing it will be easier for nokia to penetrate worldwide market – includes “the beloved and most (phueh) important American’s market”

Nokia needs rebranding of their products, i know that. But, honestly this change is, a little bit too extreme :( Okay lets face it, Nokia’s moving on, changing its image, product and everything. We, the old nokia fans must be in a deep dissappoinment. It won’t be the same nokia that we supporting until now. Me, myself can see a glimpse of Ellop’s vision. New-Nokia era is coming, get a grip Nokia fans. Lets face the change :)

Sigh, it really hurts to feel betrayed. But, hey if we love Nokia why don’t we accept its change and keep positive like we always do, right? It hurts though, and need times to accept the fact and recover.

Cheers mynokiablog team !! Please keep supporting Nokia, i have faith in you.

I’m willing to bet you’ll outlast Stephen Elop, by a long way.

  • http://blog.ovi.com Sandy

“IS NOKIA HAS COMPLETELY DITCH THE MEEGO” AS THE SLIDE PICTURE SHOWS THE TWO CHARTS ONE OF 2011 AND ANOTHER AFTER TRANSITION.

    WHATS THE RESPONSE OF TOMI.
I THING HIS PREDICTION ON MOBILE INDUSTRY WENT WRONG WITH YESTERDAY DEAL.

  • pradeep

so if it all update is ther then pr 2.0 will be the last update for s^3 !!

i wonder why they could not bring in a new ui to s^3 ,is the os which lacks the functions to be implemented or the ppl at nokia failed to bring in a new ui on s^3 ?

ELOP SHOULD START GIVING LECTURE IN TOP MBA COLLEGE “HOW TO DESTROY UR COMPANY”

AMERICANS ARE ECOTISTIC.THEY ARE NOT DIGESTING THE FACT THAT HOW A NON AMERICAN WAS ABLE TO THRIVE SUCCESS FOR 20 YEARS.

END OF WORLD FAMOUS EUROPEAN OPEN OS THAT IS SYMBIAN

END OF NOKIA BY CHAIRMAN WHO APPOINTS ELOP AS CEO.

NOKIA PUT AXE ON HIS FOOT

BIGGEST DISASTER IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND

    • Brother Lehmann

Just think. Should we (the europeans) be on our toes? The commercial OS markets will once again fully US led (Google, Apple and Microsoft).

Hopefully someone starts with Meego … maybe someone new?

  • et3rnal

    I love u man :D

A newspaper in Finland is writing that Elop owns a lot of Microsoft stock, but no Nokia stock. If this is true, then it’s just not right.

As far as I’m concerned Nokia = Microsoft now. Microsoft is controlling the destiny of Nokia.

As far as I’m concerned, my interest in Nokia has dropped to zero now. Nokia as we knew it is gone.

  • Amit

Why Nokia is going to other OS?? Why it can’t develop the well identified Symbian?? Is Nokia only want the changed name of OS? But one thing I’ll say, Nokia is confused now not me. Hope they will evolve with much brighter future in the market. Wish the best Nokia.

    • Pat

Nokia is going with another OS because Microsoft wants it to, and the CEO of Nokia is a Microsoft guy.

  • usman

i am with you .i love nokia

  • zef

Will be here until my N8 die in a natural way and if i cant find a E7 to replace it at this time , a very cool blog :-)

  • nsrs

Nokia Will be dead in few months or may be years but soon.

  • Me

I will keep coming back to mynokiablog but the months ahead are fading away fast for Nokia Corp.
I had just bought my first and last N8 a month ago, and now I will always have a buggy/lagging phone. Too bad WP7 will not run on our N8s.
We should all write to (MSFT Plnted patsy) Mr. Ellop for destroying the company, if I didn’t pay so much for this phone I would send it back to him.
