Windows Phone 7 update bricking Samsung phones (How to Hard Reset your Windows Phone)
Yesterday, Microsoft released their first ever update for Windows Phone 7. It wasn’t the biggie but it was meant to improve performance and reliability. The last thing you would expect it to do is to BRICK your phone making it totally NON Functional.
WinPhoneSupport is contacting twitter folk to “give them advice” on how to solve their issues (such helpful comments as “take it to the store”…hmm…)
WinRumours reports that this isn’t an isolated event; several Omnia 7 owners are having this issue and in an update to their post apparently Microsoft has acknowledged this issue:
“We’re aware of this issue and are looking into these reports.â€
Apparently MS will issue a statement out soon.
WPS have suggested to some users that a Hard Reset may work: It’s the same 3 finger trick as Symbian^3 oddly enough.
1. Press and hold the Camera, Volume Down, and Power buttons simultaneously.
2. Release Power when the phone vibrates, but continue to hold down Camera and Volume Down.
3. Release Camera and Volume Down when the Format prompt is displayed on screen.
4. Press Windows key twice to confirm the hard reset.
Unfortunately this didn’t work for AlexRoebuck.

Hmm….I think I’m picking up a Omnia 7 some time this week. I wonder how Andre got on with his.
