..that you can’t buy because of limited availability. Although launched in November last year and has been available in China, MWC15 is pretty much the first time most of the techsphere is experiencing it, including ones as big as TheVerge. They reckon it’s the Nicest Android Tablet That you Can’t buy. Provided you can deal […]
It has been a long time since we’ve seen a Lumia flagship. The 1520 to me is THE reigning flagship but that was from October 2013. 2013! We almost saw something amazing with the cancelled Nokia McLaren but alas that was no more. According to TheVerge, Microsoft are of course working on a Lumia Flagship […]
Here’s some hands on videos of the newly launched, newly named Lumia 640 XL! The 640 XL has a new display size for Lumia at 5.7″. Not the completely huge 6″ of the 1520 or 1320 but larger than the plethora of 5″ Lumias. It’s an almost all touch variety with physical buttons only for […]
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong on my Note 4 as to why clicking on a notification of an updated app brings me nowhere and does not list the app as being updated. On that regard, Z Launcher said it got updated and it mentions the following (mostly fixes) but new icons, Baidu search […]
I only just saw this at the movies but the Will Smith film, “focus” about misdirection was adorned by a lot of Nokia branding. I don’t have screenshots , but I thought my mind was playing tricks on me when I thought I saw a N95…then a black Nokia Lumia 1020 (which was confirmed as […]
In what appears to be an interesting change from being called 1330 (phablet successor to 1320) there may instead be a 640XL. Reflecting perhaps the 640 specs but in a larger frame. Could this help out with the confusing numbering between generations? Tom Warren has previously tweeted expecting both the 640 and a 1330 (640 XL?). […]
For those folks that have Qi Wireless Charging on their Lumias, IKEA (the largest manufacturer of furniture) is going to have built in wireless charging. Set your phone on your coffee table or night stand, boom, charging. Possibly desks and other types of furniture too. Why Qi? The volume of smartphones in the market, which […]
As part of the planned 18,000 job cuts post purchase of Nokia, 9000 more are due to be cut. Manufacturing is shifting more to Vietnam whilst closures will be made in Beijing and Dongguan. Source CheersAlvester for the tip!
Some welcome news to the Windows ecosystem. Japan based Freetel will be bringing out a phone with Windows. Seems to be a strong mid range, 64 bit Snapdragon 410 on a 1080p, 5″ display. Let’s hope 1080p will be the new standard for Lumia mid range too. Source
In an interview with Rajiv Suri, he reiterates the direction of new Nokia without handsets. Instead they will be a leader in the programmable world. Location is key to this. There are still strong aims to be connecting people one way or another. Source Cheers Wean Irdehfor for the tip
Dean tweets that they’re in preparation for MWC15. Let’s hope this once Nokia born project goes from strength to strength as an independent entity outside Microsoft, with great cross platform experiences over more countries (E. G hey Philippines). https://twitter.com/deano_42/status/570590629799067648?s=02
Microsoft sent out this email: Dear Outlook.com Customer, Within the next couple of weeks, we will be discontinuing support for Facebook Chat in Outlook.com. And due to Google’s decision to discontinue the chat protocol used by the Google Talk platform, we can no longer provide Google Chat in Outlook.com. We understand that this may disappoint some of our […]

You may or may not have a 4K screen to appreciate the extra pixels, but you’re probably more likely to have some good enough headphones to realise how superior Nokia’s history of audio recording has been, climaxing with the 930 and 1520. Having something as simple as stereo recording changes the whole environment of the […]
