Video : Nokia Shoot and tag from Nokia Beta Labs

| March 14, 2011 | 13 Replies

Behold, another application is up for trial on the Nokia Beta Labs. It’s called Nokia shoot and tag.

The first thing came to my mind when reading the name was : ” is it a facebook integrated photo app that tags friends while taking a photo on-the-fly ? ” No, it is not a wild web 2.0 app that may rattle your senses, but this is a nifty video recording app that enables automatic scene tagging so that we can watch the video afterwards with ease.

Let me explain it for you. While taking long videos (of your near and dear or your dog), this app automatically and intelligently creates tags , meaning checkpoints in the video, so that we can fast forward to those important checkpoints while viewing it afterwards, without having to drag the scroller to that point when your kid walked his first steps. Also you can manually create those tags too, for your own customised viewing experience.

It’s Works! I like it but it has no 720p Recording Option. :( ..

And also UI looks so sweet! I wish the real camera ui had been like that :( ..

    • Bharadwaj says:

yeah no 720p is a bummer, mainly i think because it supports S60V5 devices too, which have a VGA recording capability only…

Also did u notice extreme digital zooming inside the app ? lol :D

I like that Beta Labs makes all this stuff. But how great would it be if all of that is rammed into a FW update or new handset release and announced publicly.

Bake all that stuff into the firmware like bubbles, shoot and tag, panorama all of those things. They make the N8 in particular an even better device. These loose apps from another portal is nice to have. But it would be nicer to be amazed at a changelog with these kind of things in it.

    • Goc says:

      They are betas…
Most people wouldn’t want beta apps on what’s supposed to be final software.

      • Antonio says:

Just because some of the apps may be beta right now doesn’t mean they will stay like that forever. They are supposed to be finished at some time. Look at Nokia BigScreen, Nokia Panorama and many others: they are all out of beta, full version released at the Ovi Store! These could very well come built in with next firmware updates

I wish they would release the app that uses the N8 camera to make any screen a touch screen…..

something very important in this video has appeared it is that the camea is doing auto focus in this video it might be avaliable in the next update and it wouldnt appear in the c7 because it has a fixed focus .

  6. Chen Zhe says:

The UI language in the video is simplified Chinese. Is the video automatically changing language according to my browser language?

  7. shy says:

will it work on my Nokia c3-00 ?
