Nokia World 2011 – London’s the venue
Shock and awe!! Staska over at Unwired View has managed to find out, via two sources I might add, that Nokia World 2011 will be happening this fall in good old London again. Things get a little murky regarding date of course with one source reporting an October event and the other claiming September. This is in keeping with previous rumours to the same effect. We’ll keep our ears to the ground for more info as it comes in.

are we getting nokia-conned by this ? are we seeing no MeeGo device until Nokia world?
Two sources one being supposedly Nokia SA’s official twitter and the supposed competition to go to NW by Movistar gives it away for me.
Just to pitch in something to not make you guys worried:
“The Nokia showcase at CommunicAsia will feature the latest suite of mobile devices and services from Nokia and also highlight Nokia’s future ecosystem with developers.”
The Open Mobile Summit is related to these events, even if there is some small “updates” to the Microsoft deal in NCon, Elop is playing the game the way he should, just have some patience.
NCon is also there to keep good relations to the eastern countries, as we know, a lot of eastern people lost a bit of faith in Nokia when they went a bit “western”.
Nokia World is more related to the Windows Phone 7 devices. Not much known about Nokia World yet, only that it will take place sometime in late September.
I’m guessing they’ll be announcing that Anna will be available ‘in the coming months’ and then show a preview of the qwerty keyboard.

im from SA and one of nokias customer care solution managers emailed me and also said this event hasnt replaced and nokia world will be at the end of october in london. on symbian he told me he spoke to the PR team and anna wil be available end of the month in week 25 but wont be available yet due to opperator approvals. so in july latest. im trying to find out whats the story of the n9. maybe he’ll let sumthing slip
