MeeGo phone at same level as new iPhone 5 “good OS with great HW”

I’m not sure what Eldar has seen, but he seems to think that the new Maemo/MeeGo phone will be at same level as new iPhone (successor to iPhone 4, iPhone 5).

Good OS with great hardware. And for this reason alone, he stirs the pot once more and says precisely that because it is good, that ‘MS Agent’ Elop wants to kill MeeGo, diverting all attention therefore to Windows Phone. That ignores the whole “Oh Sh*t” moment that Nokia’s Kai Öistämö had when he realised MeeGo could not be finished fast enough.

Despite the future or lack of in MeeGo phone, her die-hard supporters want her regardless. They’ve managed without Nokia supporting N900 and will do so again with its successor. Especially now we hear Eldar’s suggesting Dual Core inside (as iPhone 5 will be getting dual core 1GHz A5 chip), it’ll make it an ideal purchase for the uber-geek (well, to some that can possibly live without a physical QWERTY as rumours suggest the more powerful MeeGo phone does not have one). Is it right for mass market? I’m not sure that’s where Nokia will be targeting MeeGo phone now Windows Phone is going to take over for mass smartphone distribution. MeeGo phone kinda needs to have dual-core 1GHz+ now to trump the 1GHz S40 phones :p.

Cheers for the tip, meh!
