Angry Birds Seasons update: Summer Pignic
What a glorious day today, I finally received my Symbian Anna update and the components that are related to it and while checking out the (updated) OVI store there was an update for Angry Birds Seasons as well!
It was to be expected that the succesful bird slinging game by Rovio would see another saga added this summer but so far I haven’t heard much news about a new episode being added for Symbian. However, it is now out and about and can be downloaded (for free if you already have the game) from the OVI store as an update or just tap the little globe icon inside the Angry Birds game.
What is new? From what I can see right now there are 30 new levels styled in a summery theme. The basic principle is of course the same. Just fling those birds at those pesky pigs and destroy everything in your path while trying to get the highest score possible.
Have you got the updated version yet? And how do you like it?
UPDATE: This update has been out for a while but it appears that it wouldn’t properly install via the OVI store with PR1.2 but with Anna it now does install. I had this at least, it did appear a while back but after a failed install it didn’t reappear. ut with Anna installed it appeared again and was able to install the update.
In a way this is a little bit of old news but it doesn’t hurt to bring it to the attention of those who had the failed installs or didn’t even install it yet.

Old update! the newest one released was for Rio which bumped it to version 1.3.0
Could be, we didn’t cover it though AFAIK. It appears that it was an update from as early as July, yet I never had it show up on either OVI or in the game update function.
It never hurts to bring it to the attention of those who didn’t yet knew.
this update has showed in my Ovi Store for a couple months but I couldnt download it, it would just fail on install everytime regardless of the conditions
until the Anna update
already beat this but this version doesn’t seem as refined/polished as previous iterations of the game
but oh well it was free
That reminds me, I had the exact same thing. That is why I thought this was new and posted about it.
I also had the failed download and then it didn’t appear anymore. As I wrote in the post above it appeared after I updated to Anna.

I’ll list my productcode for you: 059C9X1 and currently running version 024.001(.229.02) last part of the code is probably a country variant since I have an unbranded device.

I love how when an update of even something minor comes out the thread is full of posts like:
“What region if your phone”
“How do I change my product code”
“No updated here yet”
They say Android is fragmented but Nokia takes fragmentation to a different level, with Nokia the same whole model is fragmented, LOL! At least when you get a Galaxy S you know that it’s one phone and it’ll run the software, with Nokia, you have to find an N8 with a good region, if you buy one in India you’ll have to wait a month till Nokia finally updates it.
