We have brought you other html5test scores, and Fennec-Firefox 4.0.2 scores 277(+ 9 bonus points) putting it rather high for mobile browsers. Although it is still not as high as Firefox 9.0a1, which scored 314(+9 bonus points).

Eventhough this HTML5 testing does show something it doesn’t show what really matters, rendering speed. This only shows how HTML5 compliant a browser is. If it support elements such as or the extended form elements.

If we want to show a real good picture of what certain browsers can do it is better to do some tests with Sunspider etc. the HTML5 test is only for compliance testing, not speed testing. And what matters is speed, isn’t it?

Both are needed, but features first. For example, IE shows most websites just wrong, and some of them don’t work at all. HTML5 enables all kinds of useful stuff to switch away from just a plain web reader to a more interactive and responsive web application.

Speed is also very important of course, but the original Sunspider test is outdated, and shouldn’t be used.

what matter is compatibility and speed, no compatibility = render the pages in the wrong way

Agreed, although you would need a really ancient browser in order to render so badly that it becomes unusable. Every browser supports DIV elements, it’s primarily down to CSS styles that are often not supported.

One being the border-radius that IE refused to implement and thus you would need to create images to render such things. Luckily that is now fixed in IE9 AFAIK.
