We brought you news on a new messaging service called eBuddy XMS, for the MeeGo/N9 and other Nokia platforms. I had forgotten about this, and somehow just remembered. So I did a quick Google search and found something promising.

eBuddy announced on Wednesday, that they will be opening the beta trial to Nokia customers. (It says it’s “launched” but the trial isn’t open yet.) You have to just sign-up (through Facebook although, there is another way), and as soon as they release it, you will be sent a download link. All instructions can be found at the following page.

I know it says S60, but I do think this includes Symbian Anna/Belle. (Depicted by N8, plus I’m pretty sure I saw “E7-00” in the list when subscribing for the N9.)

In my opinion, it is a great alternative for us N9 users, that don’t have the luxury of WhatsApp. Plus, it seems to be available for a wider range of Nokias and also on WP7 (part of the beta options during sign-up).
