Lumiappaday #77: Vädret (Weather View) on the Nokia Lumia 800

Today’s Lumiappaday is an alternative to the very popular weather application ‘accuweather’ (any Symbian or Meego user is sure to be familiar with it). Vädret (which is just the Sweedish word for weather- see you already learnt something new today) is an extremely nice weather client available for free from the WP marketplace.

Vädret allows you to save up to five different cities as your favorites and displays detailed info for each city including: Hour-by-hour forecast, Forecast for 7 days ahead, wind speed and precipitation and much more; Vädret also comes with a live tile which will display the weather of your currently selected city on your homescreen. Overall Vädret is a very nice weather client keeping you in the loop even when you’re offline (stores forecast info. to save data charges). One feature I found missing was the ability to view all your cities side-by-side rather than having to switch between them in the menus; besides that Vädret has almost everything you could want in a weather client.

you missed seeing your favorite cities side-by-side and that is doable if you click the “Group view” icon you can see your cities side-by-side. Also, in the hour-by-hour view you can click the tiny icons to view next day and also display a meteogram.

The next version will be available in a week and will have a new more international name (“Weather View”) and also support the languages German, Spanish and Russian.
