Have you received yours?

Remember this? Well, we only had 3 comments on that post but I sent in my request anyway. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the FREE Lumia 710 Xpress-On cover from Nokia!!!

Shortly after Jay posted the article, I gathered the necessary goods and mailed off my request. Lo and behold, a small package arrived from Nokia with my FREE (did I mention it is FREE) Cyan back cover and boys (and girls) does it look good on the 710!

Without further wasting of your precious weekend, below is an unbagging/boxing/packing video of the Free Xpress-On Cover, first impressions (I didn’t fully snap on the cover) and pictures.

For those that have not sent in their request please view the Terms and Conditions PDF at https://www.acbpromotions.com/nokiacolorcover/pdf/termsenglish.pdf

The nokiacolorcover site appears to be out of commission but according to the T&C, you have until May 14, 2012 and your mailed request must be received BY May 21,2012.

UPDATE: The order site is back up! https://www.acbpromotions.com/nokiacolorcover/Default.asp Click Submit Your Request to begin your application.

Enjoy!

That Cyan color on N9, 800 and 900 and 710 SCREAMS of a new, rejuvenated Nokia!

What do you think about the Free Xpress-Cover? Does it make the T-Mobile 710 look better or worse? Should Nokia and T-Mobile have sold these in stores for a wider availability? Did you send yours in and have you received it? What color did you choose? If you didn’t send one in, why not?

Sound off in the comment section below.

As always, thank you all for choosing MyNokiaBlog!

    Thank for the post!

The Lumia 710 is a surprisingly good looking phone in certain color combinations. I’d even say better looking than the 800 in certain ways, although of course not as iconic or innovative design.

I’m actually writing this on my black on fuchsia/magenta 710 which I think looks pretty stunning. Comparing to my magenta N9 and black 800, it is currently my favourite looker. Glossy black in matte magenta looks really good in the 710, as does cyan in the pics above as well. But of course looks are subjective.

In Europe Nokia actually sells different color combos in retail. Mine came as black on fuchsia/magenta straight from the retail box, I never had a black back cover. Although I did see all the colors at Nokia World. Some back covers are glossy, like yellow.

  8. Janne says:

Oh btw, the reason I am writing on the 710 is to see if the claims of it being faster than the 800 are true. I agree, 710 does screen rotation faster for some reason. Otherwise both 710 and 800 seem similar as similar specs would suggest.

is limia 4G???? see pic no.10

    • q says:

      i mean lumia

    • migo says:

No, not really. ‘Course apparently carriers now get away with calling anything faster than 7.2Mbps 4G, but the Lumia 710 is in reality only fast 3G (3.75G if you want to call it that).

      • Deaconclgi says:

        2 facts:

        1. Yes, the 710 is 4G as defined by the ITU 4G specifications.

        2. We all need to accept the fact the 4G LTE isn’t the ONLY 4G technology and stop spreading misinformation. Carriers are not getting away with anything. HSPA+ is currently defined as a 4G technology and if you, me, or anyone else doesn’t like it, then we should complain to the ITU.

UNTIL THEN, it is our job to report the facts without any bias or un-truths, the fact is, it is 4G. It is NOT 4G LTE, which is a different 4G tech, but it is 4G HSPA+.

        http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2374564,00.asp

“As the most advanced technologies currently defined for global wireless mobile broadband communications, IMT-Advanced is considered as ’4G,’ although it is recognized that this term, while undefined, may also be applied to the forerunners of these technologies, LTE and WiMax, and to other evolved 3G technologies providing a substantial level of improvement in performance and capabilities with respect to the initial third generation systems now deployed,” the ITU said a statement.

In other words, all that public bickering over which carrier really has 4G (previous answer: zero) was all for naught. Based on the new guideline, commercially deployed LTE (Verizon), WiMax (Sprint) and HSPA+ (T-Mobile) can all call themselves “4G.”

There are plenty of sources in this but none better than the defining board, the ITU.

        • migo says:

They changed their standards because carriers went ahead with false advertising. The only legit 4G techs are LTE and WiMAX.

  10. migo says:

Sadly the deal wasn’t available in Canada, so I had to settle with a FW update. I hope the battery life improves, it was ‘good enough’ before, I’m hoping after this it’ll be just ‘good’.

  11. Just Visiting says:

Very nice images, Deaconclgi! You know what I think? I think that, at least in the U.S., that the color Cyan is going to be synonymous with Nokia – especially with the interest in in Cyan Lumia 900 and the ATT push for the Lumia 900 overall.

With the sea of staid, black plastic slabs out there, it is such a breath of fresh air to see some bright, punchy color options for devices.

I hope you sport this look for a while – you’re sure to get some attention, and the opportunity to talk up Nokia and WP :)

  12. Just Visiting says:

And this cover is $17 at Amazon.com! Free sounds real good so I hope that people take advantage of the offer.

  13. Kristine says:

Hi, my mom purchased 2 Nokia Lumia 710 phones yesterday. I was reading the terms and conditions for the free expression cover and they said that the ups/imei and barcode panel has to be the original one or they won’t accept it. You said in your video that you took a picture of the barcode with your Nokia N8, did you print it in a regular paper or a sticker paper?

    thanks
