N9Apps: Easy Answer

| May 15, 2012 | 25 Replies

Its been way too long since my last N9Apps post. I am going to try to do at least one a week. Now today’s app is called Easy Answer. It’s another one of those apps that just makes the N9 easier to use.

What does it do?
It runs in the background (if enabled) to make answering and ending calls so much easier. There are a few options for answering the call. These are:

  • On Ear: Raise the phone to your ear to answer the call’
  • Power Button: Double press power button to answer the call
  • Shaking: Shake the phone for a moment to answer a call

And, similarly, to end the call:

  • Power Button: Double press the power button to end the call
  • Shaking: Shake the phone to end the call.

It’s really simple. I have been using it for a few days now, and it makes it just that bit easier to receive/end calls on the device. Especially since I do this thing with my phone, where I spin it before placing it in my pocket, so the shake to end feature is really handy. I like seeing apps like this that take the whole “gesture” experience of the N9 so much further.

The app is sadly no longer on the store, but I have uploaded the deb file for everyone to enjoy. You can get it from here Update: Its back up on the Store.

If you have an N9App you love, feel free to send in a tip(email is best as I often don’t check the tips page or twitter) and I’ll take a look. Or even send in a review of your own!

Thanks very much Michael for taking the time to do this.
There’s EASILY more than enough now, to cover one /wk.
    Time permitting of course….

    • Michael Faro-Tusino

Yeah, it all just depends on my uni schedule, but will do my best

Wonder why it’s no longer available at the store?
Email tips for you go to ?

Thanks Michael, It has been like a week since last N9 related post. I hope to hear more Tweaks/app reviews from you!
I’ve used this app for few days, it works quite well. It is available in Finland as right now so it must be region related issue.
There are 2 useful apps I haven’t got time to play with, maybe you could try them out? (Qt Facelock,Smartcam)

    • Michael Faro-Tusino

QTFacelock wasn’t as good as I hoped. Better then the Sym equivalent, but still not as good.

I will need to try out Smartcam, cheers

      • Aliqudsi

QT facelock failed horribly for me- never unlocked.. NEVER

Please review Phuzzled for N9. I haven’t seen this kind of real time camera puzzle on any platform before. It show the power of Qt.

Nice! Someone needs to create a DTMF tone generator phonebook plugin.

YES! N9 posts are back! Thanks for starting again, Mike! 😀

This app is cool.. although I wish there was some way to replace the default swipe up to answer thingy or at least make it smoother =|

I still don’t have my N9 (I hope I can get it before it’s discontinued…). Can you guys please let me know how well this app works? I’m talking about that “raise the phone to your ear” part. How natural does it feel? Any noticeable lag or is the call really answered just before you get the phone to your ear and say “hello”?

  • cir3gnaw

great post Michael! did you notice any impact on the battery life after installing this app?

  • Kon

I unable to end call by shaking the phone, can someone kindly teach me? ;-(

  • Jens

Would be nice to have the new samsung galaxy “feature”:
When texting someone, bring the phone to your ear to instantly call them without the hassle of selecting + calling (or looking them up)
