Closer Look at Nokia Reading #NokiaEntertainment

| July 9, 2012 | 9 Replies

Time for round two of #NokiaEntertainment (last time was Nokia TV)- today a demo of Nokia Reading, which provides a built in ereader for books on your Lumia as well as a store to purchase the books from directly. The app itself is very well built, with a decent amount of flexibility and most importantly loads of books. The size and clarity of the Lumia 900s screen makes it the perfect device for Nokia reading for me, personally I love “pre-bedtime reading” wich is why I prefer a backlit ereader in this case as I don’t need the lights to be on.

Refuse to read books from an LCD screen, but the app looks nice. Nokia is showing Lumia some good love.

As for books, Kindle is the way for me.

    • Janne says:

(As for light, a lighted Kindle cover is the solution.)

Agreed, dedicated eReader or GTFO, no comparison.
This is a cheap alternative or 4 someone who isn’t a big reader.

You’re in luck! The Lumia 900 is equipped with a Clear Black AMOLED display. Bright and vibrant with great direct sunlight visibility.

If I knew how to read and had a Lumia, I would maybe pickup on some reading….don’t even know how I’m typing this comment with any certainty ad to what it says……well,

      • James says:

It’s still far from optimal tech for reading, that was his point.
There is way better screen tech out there for regular “reading”.

Thanks Ali, but wrong video. This is nokia TV’s video.

For those with a Kindle (and who like fantasy books) I recommend Rispin Quill, The Dragon Tongue. Look it up on the Kindle store, buy it and thank me when you’ve finished reading.

If only Amazon made a free reader app for Symbian. (They’ve made them for WP, iPhones, etc.) Not much chance now, I know.
