AT&T and Rogers: 8779 update for Lumia 900
I had looked at this earlier in the week, but due to a lack of time, wasn’t able to cover it until now. Apologies.
Nokia is preparing the 8779 Tango update for Lumia 900 owners in North America (AT&T & Rogers branded). Navifirm confirms the update, so the roll out should be just around the corner.
Nokia’s servers are displaying the updates as 2175.2301.8779.12222 for Rogers and 2175.2301.8779.12223 for AT&T.
This is good news for the North American Lumia 900 owners who seem to be long overdue for the update.
Cheers if anyone tipped it.

In interesting news, Lumia 900 apparently outsold HTC One X at AT&T in July and was the third-most sold phone at AT&T after iPhone and SGS3.

Not bad, if true. Obviously any such numbers won’t save Q3 for Nokia, but if they can maintain that momentum, they have a chance of improving from the expected disaster at least.
It’s giving a tough competition.
Other interesting point of view is, that it is said that this update would improve the camera quality dramatically:

Also, good news if true.
“Noise is apparently down overall, and low-light sensitivity is also dramatically improved.
Other elements such as focus, sharpness and colour balance has also apparently benefited.”
A much better source than WMPoweruser is WPCentral, especially since WPCentral actually broke the story about the Lumia 900 camera/image quality improves after the update, as well as provided examples of those images.
And to prove your point, in this case, WPCentral actually is the source for WMPU
Free t.v. Shows and MOVIES ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE NEW APP…CRACKLE. I got it this morning and its great. These lumia apps are fantastic.
Wish Nokia sold Nokia shirts.
Yes, it is really good news. I saw this at WPCentral.com.
I don’t think it is a Nokia exclusive, though. Still, a great free service and should be especially enjoyable on a 4.3″ screen
Lumia exclusive? yeah you can say that as nokia owns more than 80% of wp devices in North America.
Lol! You know what I meant
