Nokia Lumia 920 Pre-Order for AUD$699 at Harvey Norman
Got tipped in by MJ that he visited a Harvey Norman store here in Australia, and whilst there, he asked around about a few things, namely WP8 and the Lumia 920. Apparently, the sales assistant checked the computer and found out that there is a listing in their system for the Lumia 920 pre-order. The pre-order listing doesn’t have colour options or regular pricing, but mentions a pre-order sale price of $699.
Reportedly, the assistant was able to take a deposit, so hopefully it means we will see the listing go public soon.

Whats wrong with that price, its perfect for what you get. I would be willing to pay that. It stands up well against the competition.
Unless you live in the US, your comment really does not make sense, especially if you actually live in Australia.
I believe he’s referring to that fact that “Hardly Normal’s” a rip-off, there will be MUCH better places to buy in Oz eventually.
If you pay $700 FOR A PHONE then you’re doing it wrong.
I get all my handsets (and white goods) online. Stores like Harvey Norman survive by selling full priced products to people too stupid to use the internet properly. I got my Galaxy s2 a few weeks after it was introduced for $580 for example. In fact on eBay for example, you can pick up a brand new galaxy S3 right now for $580 (with shipping included), and that’s not even the cheapest price, that’s just the seller I routinely use. These are latest handsets here, they will only get cheaper in the following weeks, as opposed to Harvey Norman which more than likely, will not.
I think they are getting confused with the Lumia 900
The 920 i believe will be selling at $799 with pre-orders starting 1st of November

For Harvey Norman $799 is fine. That means that is likely RRP. So we’d be looking at ~$700 elsewhere e.g. Mobileciti

Very few will pay that kind of money with a gs3/iphone 5 sitting next to it.. unfortunately.
It’s great to be one of few with taste then… Fortunately.
I live in Darwin in the NT, and I have enquired about Lumia 920 and WP8 at a few Telstra resellers (Fone Zone, JB HiFi, Telstra Shop, and a Telstra Shop Licensee). Only the licensee knew what I was talking about on either count, and even then, they had to refer to the resident geek.
Doesn’t bode well, but it is Darwin.
I preordered mine at harvey norman city cross adelaide for 699$ they even accepted a 50$ deposit and gave me a reciept for it saying it is priced at 699$.
