Lumia 625 Camera Review (Video + Images)
The Lumia 625 has both a front and rear facing camera; with 5 Mp on the back and 0.3 Mp out the front. The rear facing camera can film up to 1080p at 30 fps, while the back can front can push out 480p resolution which actually looks quite nice.
First off with videos, the rear camera has some decent quality with some crisp audio, although their does seem to be a significant amount of wind and traffic distortion (and of course the lack of OIS makes for some shaky videos, something I had forgotten can happen thanks to being spoiled by the 920/1020). Another important factor is the fact that there doesn’t seem to be any lag while playing back, nor dropped frames while recording (an issue I had with the 520).

The front facing camera does a surprisingly good job at getting the colors right (I’ve found that FFC sometimes have difficulty reproducing colors, especially skin tones). Of course it’s only 480p; but it does get the job done to some extent.

In terms of still images the 625 was slightly disappointing, Nokia are certainly capable of putting a great camera on a low/budget end phone (such as the 620 and 720 which both had excellent cameras). The 625 on the other hand takes some good well lit photos, but has some  issues coping with shadows or when in the shade. Of course nobody is expecting pureview like results, but the detail capture isn’t the greatest (the S4 Zoom text on the escalators is quite blurry even though the writing is large). I think the main issue is basically struggling to get the proper focus.
On the other hand the Lumia 625’s camera is LIGHTNING fast, definitely the fastest of all Lumias I’ve tried; due to the combination of a more powerful (than the lower end phones) 1.2 Ghz processor and a lower megapixel count makes for some quick snapping.
Nothing great is expected from the 0.3 Mp front facing camera, and as expected photos are quite grainy, and should probably be avoided (last image is from the FFC). Stick to videos out the front.
