More features from Nokia, Symbian and Ovi Suite coming to Windows Phone 7
I know a lot of you don’t want to hear about Windows Phone 7 because it sucks, has nothing on Symbian, blah blah blah. In any case quite a few of the features that a lot of you have been complaining are missing from the platform are seemingly being solved either by the Windows Phone developer community or by Microsoft themselves.
In any case, some of the features I use most with my Nokia device and Ovi Suite are tethering and SMS, features I’ve covered in one of my older posts. It seems that certain members of the Windows Phone developer community have taken the absence of these features a bit personally.
The following video has cropped up, courtesy ZOMGitsCJ, showing a home-made application for accessing the devices file system, sending both emails and SMS, side-loading applications, adding custom ring-tones, taking screen captures as well as accessing and customizing certain aspects of the device’s settings.
While the specifics of this application aren’t available at this time, it looks like quite of people’s complaints about Windows Phone 7 have been swatted down in one fell swoop. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this as it develops.
Editors Note: This development will have serious knock-on effects for Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phone handsets so keep the hate and trolling to a minimum please.
