Nokia extends the warranty of purchased devices to two years in Australia
This may seem like a rather insignificant matter to quite a few of you that neither use and/or have become accustomed to warranties lasting for the full length of the life of your device. In countries like the US, Singapore and formally Australia, unfortunately, the default warranty available was 12months with an extra year available for a sizable surcharge. Recent changes in legislature in Australia mandated that device warranties for phones should match or exceed the lifetime of the consumer’s contract which in many cases is 24months or two years.
The telco’s there have been moving towards compliance with these laws and it looks like Nokia is no exception. Any device purchased from Nokia directly or sources outside of mobile operators should be covered under the following warranty.
Guess that means that quite a few of you will be a little more content if you run into device trouble down the line.
Thanks Amey
