Video and Gallery: Slashgear hands on with Nokia E6 and Nokia X7
Chris from Slashgear posts his hands on with the new Nokia E6 and Nokia X7. The first portrait QWERTY candybar phone with Touch (Symbian Anna) from Nokia.
First impressions, though, are very positive. The 326ppi touchscreen is pixel-dense and responsive, neatly positioned to be stabbed with a thumb when holding the E6 in one hand. Meanwhile the physical keyboard delivers all the tactile feedback you’d hope for.
On Symbian Anna, Chris says:
It’s too early to say how well Symbian Anna polishes the experience from earlier versions, but the icon changes are welcome and give the menus a more modern feel.
The browser seems to do better but still requires some time to pause and rest and load before pinch/zooming.
The browser rendered the SlashGear homepage well, complete with animations, and supports pinch-zooming (though we found we needed to wait until it was fully-loaded before we could zoom).
On the X7:
Surprisingly waifish in the hand, with distinct tapering edges leaving it feeling like a crisp metal slice, the angular chassis (and Symbian OS) will probably polarize opinion nonetheless.
