Are you paying attention to the Apple-Nokia patent wars? Confused slightly? Do you care?

If you do, bloomberg reports that ITC Staff recommends siding with Nokia, that Nokia are not infringing on Apple patents.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-04-18/itc-staff-recommends-siding-with-nokia-htc-in-apple-patent-case.html

This is different to Nokia’s suing of Apple, for which they have filed a second ITC complaint after Apple some how won a patent dispute with Nokia (where they apparently are not infringing on Nokia’s patents…miraculously with their own magical iAntennas huh)

ITC also recommended siding with HTC too vs Apple. In other news, Apple is suing Samsung for copying iPhone and iPad’s “look and feel”….hmm…look and feel….deja vu… Well, though it’s difficult to “innovate” around a rectangular screen (to maximise space, you’re gonna be identical to the screen shape), the Samsung Galaxy S has always been a blatant rip-off from iPhone (which does look like the LG Prada before both devices, in being a rectangular mostly touch screen device).

It’s not just the app launcher. Symbian and many predecessors have that. It’s just the entire combination of the shape of the device, the home button placement, the 4×4 bar with a bottom four row grid.

Same goes for Galaxy Ace which in UK adverts, my friends keep confusing for an iPhone 4. That silver sandwhich does remind a lot of N81.

Nexus S looks different, Focus, Omnia 7. Nokia E7 shows that you don’t have to be strictly rectangular. N8 too obviously (though we did make early comments that it looks like there’s an iPhone in the N8, what with it simply being synonymous with black rectangular screens :S)

Cheers T-SHO.
