WP7 PC Mag Reader’s Choice for Smartphone OS. Ties with iOS.
Joe Belfiore tweeted that WP7 was PC Mag’s Reader’s Choice for Smartphone OS. At 8.7 it puts it neck and neck with iOS.
The results came from PCMag’s survey of their readers, with very high satisfaction rates for WP.
While Apple and Microsoft rated the same for overall satisfaction, Windows Phone actually received slightly higher satisfaction ratings than iOS in several key areas, including reliability, text messaging, Web browsing, and gaming. Apple’s iOS, however, rates substantially better than Windows Phone for satisfaction with the quality and availability of apps and its music player.
Here’s the methodology of how they got their results. Possibly much less room to be skewed by sudden influx of fanboys asking people to vote :p.
PC Mag also had a score as to how likely someone would recommend that OS to another. WP apparently only scored 0.5 points more than their satisfaction rating which they concluded as meaning folks were unsure whether WP would gain traction. Well you don’t really need a question there, no one can be certain if WP can gain traction. The next few months are very critical for it and Lumia’s success.
BlackBerry apparently has no traction amongst their readers. Oddly they say BB had the lowest reliability score that tied with Microsoft. How odd. Is that Microsoft WP or Microsoft a company (perhaps too many BSODS or Windows crashes for some would warrant such a score). Reliability is one of my favourite aspects of WP so I’m sure it can’t be that.
