HD Video: Stunning 3D Gaming on N900 – Bounce Evolution – The Scenic Route

Graphics wise, whatever glitzy eye candy game you can show off on the iPhone, the N900 can do it too [and possibly look better if games will utilise the 800×480 screen of the N900 vs the Paltry 320×480 of the iPhone).

Bounce Evolution was the first 3D game shown on the N900 and everyone was stunned at how good it looked (and it’s on a Nokia!). I loved Bounce on my 7210 – kept me busy for ages – I’d never have thought that it would ever look as good as this.

In this post, I take a scenic route of Bounce Evolution (as in normal sessions it only lasts about a minute) to check out the scenery, and detail, such as:

  • Reflections in the water
  • Waterfall
  • Leaves
  • Rocky edges
  • The sky
  • The fireplace and candle at the end house

I even come across some random spot that Bounce gets trapped in….he manages to bounce in the water for a while and then drowns.

For comparison, here’s ‘normal’ speeds. The accelerometer is really sensitive – if I bump into things, that’s when I look away to see if the N900 is in frame. It’ s even better when played in person

Finally, here’s the System Rush Evolution cross, where Bounce races across a track against the clock. Again, accelerometer great, I hit the sides due to checking if the N900 is still in the video.

If only the N97 could do this – it had the perfect form factor for gaming.

More 3D games for N900 please ^_^
