Video: Nokia 808 PureView Caterpillar Macro
Here is an example where the ‘lossless’ digital zoom comes into great use with the Nokia 808 PureView.
Like with the N8, when taking close up video, you don’t have to physically get closer. Just use that zoom in video. No worries about loss in detail. Compare post production zoom and zoom in video with the 808 and you’ll see it makes a heck of a difference.
Sometimes, if you’re taking snaps of these little creatures, going physically closer might disturb them so zoom is a better option.
This video also showcases the continuous AF, which is really fast and accurate. Touch focus is also possible on the 808 should you want to (pretty much) manually direct the focus points.
Note, when zoomed in, vibrations/shaking is also magnified so be warned. You might want to have a tripod if you don’t have super steady hands.
Listen out for the channel separation in the audio.
This is more representative of the kind of footage an every day user would get. We’ve seen Topolino70’s work showing the very best of the best, but that requires a little set up and some equipment (well a tripod).
Here’s another post discussion the 808 zoom
