Nokia Lumia 1020 with f/2.2 aperture. OIS still unknown. Will we get optical image stabilising to our 41MP?

Some of you have pointed out that Joe’s Nokia Lumia 1020 samples also indicate that the upcoming PureView beast features a f2.2 aperture.  The smaller the number, the larger the aperture. The 808 for instance has f/2.4. The Nokia Lumia 920 has an aperture of f/2.0 and the 720 has the biggest at f/1.9.

There are other things that come into play when allowing in more light.

Exposure time – the 920 and its variants can have a longer exposure time due to the addition of optical image stabilisation to minimise the blur from the hands (not the moving subjects though).

The size of the actual sensor is also important too, and various other things (pixel binning, pixel size, sensor type)

Imagine if you could cram all those into one camera phone? Huge sensor, 41mp with pixel binning PureView, OIS, f/1.9?

BTW, for even better low light, some have mentioned it may be worth forgoing 41MP and instead going something like 12-16. I’m not sure the technicalities around that. I did read that it could potentially mean the lens would have to be bigger also but I’m not an expert at this.
