In CNET’s podcast, they discuss Microsoft’s intention on getting rid of the Nokia name. In their opinion, this is a terrible move to change Nokia to Microsoft Mobile Oy.

They reckon it’s the worst idea they’ve ever heard.

Nokia is a hugely trusted brand in Britain, Europe, the rest of the world outside US.

They feel Microsoft is stuffy, business but Nokia’s got style. They reckon Xbox Mobile is better but Microsoft Mobile sounds boring.

The one glimmer of hope is that this is the company name only and that there could still be some connection to the original Nokia.

They reckon it would be a terrible move to get rid of the Nokia branding. £400 in your pocket would you go for a new Microsoft mobile or a new Nokia?
