Video: Android L compared to Windows Phone 8.1
Android L originally got our attention due to the new cleaner, minimal, square flatness elements it seems to have gained.
With regards to accessing the camera from the lock screen I think most WP users (except on the camera buttonless varieties) just long press on the camera shutter button.
I do have to agree in that I prefer the quick controls in Android L better, simply because there are more (and things like brightness can be adjusted via a level instead of tapping to cycle through automatic, low, medium and high).
When comparing the keyboard, oddly they didn’t have Word-Flow on their 930 (?) odd.
They reckon WP is ‘catching up’ but it’s still a minimal, simple to use, Mobile OS that’s giving the competition something to worry about. It’s “different”. In areas where it is not as functional as Android they praise it for doing things well. Â But those who are experienced in Android may prefer to stick with L. But those who don’t mind could be happy with either platform.
