What We Can Expect at Microsoft’s #MoreLumia Event Tomorrow
It’s almost September 4th, which means in less than 24 hours Microsoft will be unveiling some new Nokia Lumia devices at IFA Berlin(10 AM on September 4th), so what should we expect?
Lumia 830:
First up to expect from Microsoft is the upcoming Lumia 830, which was codenamed “Tesla” a while back, the device is a follow-up to the Lumia 820, which admittedly didn’t have much going for it; except a price-tag that was too high. The Lumia 830 however ups the specs of a mid-range device a bit, bringing them to 2014 standards, so far here’s what we know:
- Screen resolution: 720p (unknown size, probably 4.5″-5.0″)
- Snapdragon 400 processor (Qualcomm 8926)
- 10 Mp pureview Camera
- Xenon flash
- User removable back cover
- Aluminum frame
- Available in Multiple colors (white, black, orange, green)
- Windows Phone 8.1
- Physical navigation buttons + Camera button
Lumia 730:
The second phone expected from Microsoft tomorrow is the Lumia 730, a follow-up to the wildly popular Lumia 720 (which was one of my all time favorite Lumias in terms of design and feel),  the main selling point of this device is likely the front facing camera which is pegged at 5 MP and should give some impressive results, the specs are most likely as follows:
- 5 Mp front facing camera
- 6.7 Mp main rear camera (like the Lumia 720)
- LED Flash
- Unconfirmed screen size/resolution, most probably 4.7″ at 480p or possibly 720p
- 1 Gb of ram
- Dual Sim Variants
- Quadcore Snapdragon 400 processor
- Expandable storage
- Polycarbonate body
The Lumia 730 and 830 are the only devices expected to be revealed tomorrow, given that the high end Mclaren device was apparently cancelled due to development challenges.
There isn’t much longer till we find out exactly what the specs of these devices are, and if there are any surprises in store for us, but we’ll be sure to update you with any new information as well as the official release of both devices tomorrow.
