nokia logoComing across such a title would make most ignore it. But the source of this post is Re/code and the writer is Ina Fried, so it’s worth paying attention.

The move is driven by Nokia Technologies which has so far released Nokia Z Launcher and of course, Nokia N1.

Former Nokia exec, Richard Kerris said about Nokia, “They have a lot of great stuff in development. It gave me complete confidence that Nokia is a company that is not going away”.

Apparently people will be blown away by stuff that comes to the market.

I distinctly remember Kerris also mentioning that there’ll be Nokia products people will be “climbing over themselves” to get. That was of course, Lumia Pureview the 1020 did blow people’s minds in terms of being that DSLR in a phone with such wide praises all across the blogosphere.

It seems as expected that Nokia will continue the path of N1 – design cool products, license the Nokia name and have someone else make and distribute that device.

Despite the huge investment into networks with Alcatel-Lucent, and potentially divesting here, Nokia Technologies pursuits are still active, with “a clear focus on incubating new technologies and sharing those technologies through an active licensing program”.

Nokia doesn’t have more to say until a later date but said they’ll be, “expanding into exciting new areas … with a focus on enabling the human possibilities of the connected world”.
