here are a couple of Nokia N900 videos courtesy of stevechippy from UMPCPortal.

N900 Browser Demo

You may have already seen some N900 browser videos (and expect a lot more what with Nokia dishing out 400 for people to test out!) but stevechippy‘s 13 minute video goes through quite a few websites showing exactly how the Nokia N900 browser will be like in general use.

Check out the speed of page loading, but more interestingly, how when multitasking – the window panes are LIVE, i.e. if there’s a video playing, when you go to multitask view, you can still see it playing!

  • On this non-final software N900 it does seem to fail quite miserable when attempting to load a google reader.
  • A nice feature with the browser is that the address bar can also be used for google searches.
  • I like that you can zoom/pan/interact with the page even whilst the pages are loading (no waiting around!)
  • Flash videos embedded in sites can be played (although stuttering, early videos of N900s showed flash videos unable to play at all, so maybe it’ll get to full frame rate in future/final firmware?)

N900 DivX Playback

720×400, 4.2mbps to  50inch screen – very respectable quality. 32GB memory, smooth video playback, could be a fantastic portable hard-drive video player. (Though I still want to see how it copes with some of those larger 700MB DivX DVD files)
