Nokia Orion – Touch Screen Gaming Nokia Concept
It resembles a super slim Game Boy Advance, with a touch of E97 ‘clone‘; this concept called Orion by the Recombu guys is a dedicated Nokia gaming touch screen phone which relies on dedicated gaming keys as opposed to purely touch screen.
The E97 part is the qwerty keyboard which appears behind the touch screen, but it has its own screen for texting too.
I’m all for super slim touch screens! More concept Nokia phones to drool over please! (If only I had the skillz – I’m only a MS paint guy >_<) Also, what I really like is that it’s a name. Not a designation/barcode/mysterious digits.
The info blurb:
“The Ovi Orion boasts a 4.3-inch touchscreen, proper gaming controls, a killer CPU and GPU, HSDPA (3.5G), Wi-Fi and just in case you need to type out a long message there’s nifty keypad on the back with a small screen – you can flip the Orion over and use the larger screen to write and edit text too. It’s just a concept of course, but you get the idea, this phone would kick arse and most importantly provide a superb gaming experience.”

What do you think? Any features missing? (Say cheese!) Is candy bar the way to go or is there still room for the slide/tilt? Are hardware buttons needed anymore? (Even camera buttons could potentially be replaced by a side strip of touch sensitive flush/invisible buttons – with varying vibrating feedback when you’re pressing and how hard)

I use a NOKIA E71 & a NOKIA E75 & after using it for about 2 yrs & comparing it with other phones I came to some conclusions which I thought would be essential for many customers of NOKIA.I hav selected NOKIA E71 & NOKIA E75 because those are the best sellers among all E-SERIES phones.
if i am not wrong thn E-SERIES are called business phones. But here are some points by which i can prove that they hav a weak base in the field of business….
1>mid-end phones such as Samsung champ also has a CALL MANAGER ( CALL REJECT & CALL BLOCKING ) but E-SERIES phones don’t have. Though we can get this facility through softwares like NetQin Communication manager(having a confusing ui) & TrueCaller(not a free apps) so at last we end up either loosing more money or using a software whose language is not understandable(NetQin)
2> No E-SERIES phone have a system of locking the messages, gallery, file manager etc.In other hand samsung phones like champ have this system
3> The OFFICE SUITE is not having a free upgrade. So most of the customers have to use such a office software which don’t support documents or sheets or presentations edited or created in Microsoft Office 2007 and newer versions
4> In some phones we see that we can browse the files in other bluetooth enabled mobile through bluetooth connection. These E-SERIES phones don’t offer this facility so we need to download softwares like bluetoothFTP which mostly don’t work or are inefficient
5> the webkiit based internet browser is quite good but these are not fast like that in phones like NOKIA N8 & NOKIA N900.
6> Most popular social networking applications like g-mail & orkut are not installed previously
7> The next comes the issue of USB connectivity or data cable. They are too slow so most customers prefer card reaaders for normal file transfer.
8> As it is a business mobile so NOKIA must include a inbuilt ANTIVIRUS in it. After all we are paying so much for a business phone so we must get something equivalent to the money
9 > NOKIA E71 has a non standard head phone jack
10> In business we may sometime need to display something in our phone on a screen. For that we need a TV output jack or an HDMI jack with proper kits. But NOKIA E71 don’t have it
11> the slider of NOKIA E75 feels that it is loose or that it may break
12> Applications like Barcode Reader doesn’t work properly & it don’t give proper output
13> the phones are heavy & bulky looking E90 & E63 being among the heaviest
14> when we talk about business thn a talk of sophistication comes into our minds.these mobiles don’t provide sophisticacy like Apple Iphone or HTC phones like the HD2
15>the DICTIONARY software have a small collection of words. And proper definations of scientific terms are not available thus another useless thing for business
So we see that E-SERIES are not so developed in field of business.IF ANYONE WANTS TO ADD SOME POINTS OR CORRECT MY ARTICLE THEN PLZ CONTACT ME IN santanu143.dgp@gmail.com
