Which handset downloads the most from the Ovi Store?
According to an email from Tam Hanna to Ovi store publishers; January’s distribution looks like this:
- X6 0%(3.2%)
- unknown 0.75(0%)
- 5230 1.5% (3.1%)
- 5530 6.8% (6.2%)
- 5800 36.5% (40.6%)
- N97 54.4% (46.5%)
Numbers in brackets were figures from December 09.
N97 and 5800 users are clearly leading in terms of Ovi Store usage. I’m guessing that’s mostly because there are more of those handsets about as well as those users being more inclined to utilise the Ovi Store.
Ovi Store is slowly gaining a lot of ground. It opened in January to Maemo and N900 users (with limited content) and recently got a little update that vastly improved the user experience on S60 touch. Overall with other handsets, Ovi Store commands over 1 million downloads per day.
