Advertisements [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8doozHcRkEU] __________________- BACK STORY A couple of weeks back WOMWorld sent over a bumper box full of accessories and odd items like wigs, plastic flowers and fake snow. With that, I was supposed to make a video. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtM2BHCCsdg] I didn’t really understand it at the time, and even if I had understood the brief, […]

Apparently the finestfones peeps have performed some benchmark tests on the N8 and claim “N8’s ‘phone speed’ is almost 100% greater than the Omnia HD and 350% greater than the N97” Well, with the N8 at 857 (acceleration ON) and N97 at 249 and i8910 at 452… …that makes the N8….244% faster than N97 and […]

ChipperMist has got his hands on a 5235 and has provided a video overview along with an unboxing and Ovi Store demo. The Nokia 5235 is a strupped down 5800, but with 2MP camera (instead of 3.2mp carl zeiss) and no WiFi. Note, that the 5235 is different from the 5230 because (supposedly) 5235 comes […]

Here’s an electric blue Nokia N8 resting on an orange/red N8, uploaded by Nokia Engineer, Carol Chen. I really like this blue for some reason. Maybe due to the rarity of live photos. Also the seams are slightly more flush. I suspect the colours look a little different again without that flash. Note the normal […]

Stunning live photos of Orange (Red?) Nokia N8 – "most impressive pre-production hardware we’ve seen"

SlashGear got some playtime with the Nokia N8 (orange though it looks RED here). It looks absolutely stunning and in terms of build, SG says, “it’s some of the most impressive pre-production hardware we’ve seen…..We had our doubts initially about the bright orange color scheme, but in the metal it’s far more attractive than in […]

Slighly revamped Portrait QWERTY on Nokia N8?

Slighly revamped Portrait QWERTY on Nokia N8?

For landscape typing, QWERTY is the way to go, be it in physical keys or virtual keyboard. When typing in portrait, and especially with one hand, I prefer the traditional T9 style as S60 5th edition portrait QWERTYs are somewhat on the terrible side (so small you need to use a stylus/plectrum!). @macintosh (via blog-n8) […]

Video: Qt Automotive UI Demo (with seamless phone integration!)

QtStudios is demonstrating Qt Car infotainment demo. It looks pretty slick, and can be operated by touch or by dial. It also has terminal mode for seamless integration with your phone. Hook it up and you can see your phone’s UI on the car’s dashboard. (The contrast between UI is so painful, it really does […]

This is not meant to be any promo video, just demonstrating Qt on Symbian^3 (via emulator) [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzM6kPeMgAM] I hope this is a very old screen shot and that the dialler will not look like this. I don’t want to make any comments. Lack of sleep over the past revision week is catching up with me […]
