Many moons after the end of voting for features in Nokia Conversations’ “Design by Community” project, the design sketches for the concept devices have been published.

The features chosen by the community were:-

Display and UI: 4-inch capacitive 16:9. Power button, camera, zoom and volume button controls
Shape:
Monoblock
Dimensions:
60 x 110 x 6-10mm
Extras:
Auto lens cover
Material:
Aluminium
Finish:
Soft touch
Colour:
Single colour
Durability:
Super strength
OS: Open source operating system with unlimited multitasking
Connectivity: Support for 802.11 n/b/g wireless standards, USB 3 connectivity, HDMI connectivity, cable charger and Dolby Surround Sound
Camera: 8-megapixel, 4X optical zoom, Dual LED and Xenon flash, HD video capture and instant image capture
Enhancements: Kinetic power booster, multiple OS support, surround sound speakers, upgradable Flash memory, upgradable image sensor

And while obviously some of these features are impossible to illustrate and/or feasibly manufacture, they represent what most Nokia geeks would love in their devices (barring the keyboard aficionados).

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that these sketches could possibly have been for real devices albeit slightly tweaked to fit the desired specs.

The design language to me remains consistent with previously released/ leaked devices.

Sketch 1 is obviously reminiscent of the N8

Sketch 2 is much like the current X6

While Sketch 3 looks remarkably like the leaked “C7”

Chances are we’ll see devices with VERY similar looks in the near future.
