Need to work on the zooming out in the web browser. On the visual end, moar animations would be nice :-)
But as it stands, it’s rather fast.

  2. Keith says:

Wow, the browser looks much better than before, but they still need to worm on navigation and zooming in and out in the browser. But I see the improved the scrolling in it and it’s much nicer now!

  3. Jim says:

yes. they improved the speed very much . probably some eye candy will see in S^4

It will be nice if they will come out and say that N8 will support symbian 4. sure they will make a lot of sales.

    • Andre says:

The browser looks significantly fast. Guess the graphics acceleration is really helping with screen rendering stuff. Freeing up the CPU to do all the fun stuff unlike certain OS’s *cough* Android *cough*

      • Jim says:

I don’t think the html rendering is made special to take the advantages of the GPU . they just improved the algorithm and make it faster.

        • Andre says:

I’m referring to the way the OS writes data to the screen. Although HTML rendering won’t be done by the GPU, screen rendering is. Unlike other devices where both tasks are done by the CPU.

  5. Inacurate says:

Is everyone OK with the speed with which the home screen changes when he flicks? Seems a little late, early rev of OS? Maybe depends on when he removed finger from screen?

    Just seemed a little off.

Also, I would miss the “anywhere” widgets that I am use to on the N900, I really like that freedom, being able to layer them, etc. This seems more standardized, which of course will have its own positives, but if a dev doesn’t take advantage of this huge spot and just makes a big button that “goes” – I could see me getting a little annoyed. ;)

I like how the FB client, when it rotates, the icons stay on accessible. Now if only that was an option for say, left or right hand users and we could choose it. THAT would be impressive. (I have a HUGE thing for deep user configurable options)

  6. GordonH says:

N8 looks smooth, clean and fast in this demo. The N8 is destined to be another great handset.
Everyone feels the N8 is “the” phone their are waiting on but once the new meego phone gets announced ahh… then what? Nokia world can’t come soon enough .

  7. Yougo says:

Put more effort into the homescreen to attract buyers

  8. GordonH says:

    Where’s that important portrait keyboard?
