Video: Nokia E7 and Nokia Social App: Twitter and Facebook (with calendar integration) and Mail demo

| September 26, 2010 | Reply

Here’s a look at the integrated Social Application on Symbian^3 devices, as demonstrated on the Nokia E7.

Here you can see the combination of twitter and facebook accounts (and possibly others?), merging into a single feed or can be viewed separately.

When you see the mail demo, the E7 sort of either locks up or locks the screen (happened a few times on other E7) – it is a proto device shown on day 1 after all.

Check out the senders on her E7 – it’s the cast of star wars. Email has that newer interface seen on the N8, with HTML email as standard and pinch to zoom within the message. PDF reader is free as standard on the E7 allowing viewing of pdf documents on the fly.

Jumping back to the social App, an interesting facebook experience is the integration of your social calendar with your E7 calendar. Accepting events gives you the option to add it to your S^3/E7 calendar so no manual updating needed. This actually makes both the Facebook calendar and your own phone calendar much more useful (if you’re a facebook user). God knows, facebook is kinda the main way I know about when people’s Birthday’s are.

So are these the official Twitter and Facebook apps for Nokia? Or just an integrated one?

Why can’t we have Gravity as the official Twitter App?
