My Dream Nokia #4: Nokia E10 14MP Xenon, 720p screen, 4.2" S-AMOLED CBD

| November 13, 2010 | 29 Replies

“My Dream Nokia” #4 is the Nokia E10 from Keith Francis. As Keith points out:

Haha, I know TONS of these things are simply impossible for now. But hey, it’s just my ‘dream’ phone, eh? I think I’d go crazy if this phone ever became real! :D

The design on the right is the Nokia “U” design by community phone (I would not be surprised if MeeGo phone is released like this) but with dual LED in addition to xenon (“U” supposed to have dual LED but not so obvious from design). I think what Keith is more concerned about is the keyboard layout.

  • MeeGo 1.4 – 2nd gen MeeGo UI. Extremely optimized for Heavy-duty users to have a longer battery life.
  • Out-of-the-Box WiFi-Tethering support
  • Qt browser with Full flash support which is upgradeable.
  • All the internals are future-proof (meaning – you can upgrade the internals -RAM, processor, GPU, etc- in future)
  • Dual Core 1.2 GHz Intel Moorestown Processor
  • 1GB physical RAM plus another 1GB virtual RAM
  • 80GB Internal memory + 2 micro SD card slots that support up to 32 GB.
  • Physical Keyboard – Just the way it is laid-out in the picture
  • Spaced keys like on the leaked N9
  • One key on the front to function as the home key
  • Physical 2-stage camera shutter button
  • 5MP Front facing camera
  • 14MP Main Camera with Xenon flash and dual LED flash and 3x optical zoom + 3x intelligent digital zoom. 6x zoom total.
  • Automatic lens cover – Like on a digital camera
  • Available in Anodized aluminium and a scratch-proof stainless steel body. WITH removable battery
  • 2250 mAh battery with kinetic charge (Nokia concept – they battery would charge with the movement of the phone)
  • Super-AMOLED CBD 4.2″ Capacitive Display with 1280X720 Resolution.
  • Gorilla Glass 2 (2x stronger and scratch-proof than normal GG) – smudge proof, fingerprint proof.
  • Dustproof, Waterproof body – resistant up to 30 min in water, 10 meters deep
  • Stereo speakers at the top
  • Full size Wireless HDMI Port with Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound
  • A FULL size female USB port to plug in USB devices directly to the phone without needing a separate cable
  • Slider-mechanism to cover HDMI and USB ports (like on Samsung Galaxy S series phones)
  • High speed – up to 100Mbps Bluetooth 4.0 with a range of 50 Meters.
  • WiFi N
  • LTE and 4G support
  • 124x68x13.5mm dimension
  • Optional accessory to make coffee with the phone! (Hey, the pomegranate concept phone has the ability to do it! Why not? Businessmen often get tired and need some coffee in their breaks!) ;)

This is Keith’s dream Nokia. I actually would not want to go past 12MP, but then again I said I’d be happy with just 5 or 8. Usable 12MP is great.

Dustproofing is a good thought and not something that should be over looked. It’s annoying when certain phones are prone to having dust getting trapped in odd nooks and crannies which are impossible to wipe clean.

About “My Dream Nokia”

I’m sure you’ve dreamt up your PERFECT Nokia phone. What it would look like, what it would feel like, what features it would have. Why don’t you share it with the world? Or at least with other Nokia fans :D .

It could be your own photoshopped or rendered work (seriously, you don’t need mega skills in either, basic paint job is often enough to convey a concept) of your dream product.

SEND this in similarly to tips@mynokiablog.com with the title “My Dream Nokia” and perhaps the model number (and a little description, maybe a few specs in the message area? Though this bit not necessary).

Who knows, maybe an image might flutter over to Nokia and through whatever route end up being real.

i have a nokia E7-00 then i saw this phone and what it is capable of would dominate over all i like the sound of it very much . Are these just ideas or is this phone actually going to be made ???

  • jot3000

My dream nokia would simply be whai would call the N8i>Nokia n8 body design but with:4inch CBD screen, speaker where the lock slider is(sack the lock slider, good but expendable)led video light where speaker used to be,slightly flusher front simply for grime purposes,800mhz processor with gpu 512mb ram,32 gb memory,800×480 screen resolution, wireless HDMI,full flash with a browser that could actually handle it,running a stable, optimized version of symbian,oh yeah….NOKIA INTERNET RADIO APP AS STANDARD!!
    This could almost be perfect!

    Very bad -.- .
    Desire Z keyboard ^^

I would like a 4 in. MEEGO phone with AMOLED CBD that marry’s perfectly with my car as an OEM option. A phone that rests and is charged in a cradle on the vehicle’s dashboard and fully integrates when placed in the cradle. The car backs up the phone and vice versa. If the phone is lost or stolen, you can wipe remotely from the car, and vice versa. When the phone is cradled. at least two flat screen headrest repeaters can play video off of the feed. latest gen BT, wifi, CPU/GPU are a given with a top camera (12MP, great optics and sensor) and both XENON and Dual LED. Phone supports USB OTG as well as a built in USB hub within the cars dashboard. Optional video cam can work off of USB hub for video calls in transit. Car comes with a remote BT control for operation by anyone within the vehicle. At least 1500 MaH battery. Candy bar form factor. Scratch and fingerprint resistant. Quality construction. Co branded with certain car manufacturers. A phone that supports built in apps for car diagnostics, full navigation, and a GPS locator. FM radio, Internet radio, and FM transmitter all standard. Full codecs.

Is that the HTC Desire Z keyboard? Photoshop fail? Lol

    • killer

      Yes^^ Fail!

    • Keith

Yes, it is a desire Z keyboard. Not really a fan of HTC or android but after using the keyboard on it, I instantly became a fan on the way the keys were laid out! It was great to use! I’m not saying that Nokia should make the same keyboard, I’m just saying that Mokia needs to make their own keyboard with the same layout as this (I.e. Same layout as you would find on a computer keyboard) :D

  • alex68

This dream phone actually looks quite close to the real N9, except the keyboard part. Nokia always has its own keyboard design.

    • http://mynokiablog.com Jay Montano

That’s good news. I was always secretly hoping that the Community Project Nokia U was a hint towards what Nokia’s gonna be bringing :D

    • Raj

dont spill secrets lol. I wanna be totally suprised when N9 is announced.

      • alex68

Hmmm, I did not tell much. I just told the outlook of this dream phone was a bit like the N9 even though I know quite many things about N9 already.

        • Raj

Now i know what to expect. And from your post it sounds like that N9 will have keyboard. Lets just wait n see i guess.

          • ahsan

so you didnt know that n9 had a keyboard before alex said so ? wow O.o didnt you see the leaked proto :S it was pretty awesomeness :D

        • alex68

ahsan, the leaked N9 (like mini Mac) was dead a long time ago.

Because it is designed as a super computing device, it would look really silly without a physical keyboard.

          • http://mynokiablog.com Jay Montano

Crickey – must be so hard knowing so much but not being able to say :D

I don’t know whether I want to know now or wait to be surprised. I think perhaps the latter – but with constant speculation on what’s coming :D

Hope we don’t have to wait too long. They better not release the damn thing around exam time. (Jan/May) After yes. Before…noooooooo!

          • ahsan

” was dead a long time ago.” wow O_O i dont really want to ruin the surprize but i want to ask you a few questions .

1- has the design got better or worse? [i loved it's keyboard]
            2-early 2011 or late ? T_T

  • shadowninty

    <3 it
    Amazing
Just keep it NitDroid compatible eh?

Whden I saw the "open-source OS" thing I was worried it meant symbain LOL
    Thankfully not
And guys Desire Z is fantastic (sense+android=phoneporn) ESPECIALLY the keyboard.

    Greets

  • Ali Abdulla

you know wat would be an awesome feature?
a physical mini slider, that locks/unlocks accelerometer

sometimes you want to lock it in, especially when your playing music on ur pocket, then you take the phone off, to quickly mute/change song… and the screen keeps flipping around, annoying :(…

    • ahsan

the handsfree that nokia gives with the 5800/most of its phones allows you to pause/play/forward/back/volume up / volume down / receive call / end calls :D

  • Pete
