Night Light Pro: Turn on Nokia N8 light with a clap! Coming soon to Ovi Store

One of the most subtle but awesome new features in the Nokia N8 (S^3 phones in general) is the always on clock when the screen is locked. I love it because all I need to do to check the time is just glance at the screen (no unlocking). Even better – at night, or early in the morning, I don’t have to have my old routine of fumbling around for my phone. I can see a little glimmer from the N8 screen.  The black of the AMOLED is off, and only the light from the clock is on (and dimmed unless you touch it) so battery life has not been an issue.

Anyway, what a long intro.Picobrothers have gone a step further and with a new clock have integrated a “clapper”. Had one of these in your house lights before? Clap and they turn on? That’s exactly what this does. No looking for the light switch. At the sound of a clap, the screen turns bright white. And off again after a clap.

Now this isn’t just for N8 or Symbian^3, it’s also for S60 5th users. It’s coming soon to Ovi Store – I think it was previously listed but now says “item no longer available”.

Holy moose, we reached 45k views yesterday! Crazy! On Tuesday we officially hit over 30k and I didn’t think we’d get it again for a loong while. On Wednesday, somehow went to 36k and Yesterday went past 40k so soon. It is just a blip a I mentioned before, or possibly something wrong with the view counter (it’s a 3rd party widget plugin). Views seem to be returning to normal rate.
