Update to Nokia Social App
The Social network integration app and service from Nokia just received one of a few planned updates for the year 2011. Minor here is the sticking point because the changelog indicates there will be little to assuage the frustrations of current users of the service.
Changes include improvements to the contact card such that Facebook status’ are shown on the default page, better indication of which contacts in the phonebook are linked to online services.
The sharing service now allows for larger photos to be uploaded. Files up to 4Mb are now accepted in addition to the retweet option when using twitter.
The application is available via the Application update feature on your device. I’m sure current users would love to leave their feedback on the application so head on over to the Ovi blog and leave your opinions.
We will be publishing our own detailed views on the application and a bit of Symbian^3 first impressions in our upcoming reviews :).
Keep a look out for them.

info from Jay:
To get the update, you open the app and you MUST be signed in to one of your social accounts. One of my favourite things (sarcasm) about the social app is its persistence to FORGET your log in details. What the bloody hell is the Ovi sign in for if you’re making me sign in again to social networks I’ve signed into so many times already. Anyway, if you’re not signed in, clicking update will not do anything.
Steve Litchfield tweets that it takes it well into “good enough for most people” area. That just shows you how awful the previous iterations were if an update makes it barely good enough. I haven’t tried it yet, my connection is too damn slow to download it so I’ll give it a go another time.
