My Dream Nokia #20: Nokia X9 Symbian^3 phone concept with 12MP True Zoom and Dragontail glass
We’ve reached 20 posts now for My Dream Nokia. #20 is brought to us by Andre Nuansa who presents us the Nokia X9 MeeGo concept phone. The design looks good, simple classic rectangular design. What will set it apart is Nokia’s still unseen MeeGo UI Wait, wait, it’s actually Symbian. My BAD. Well, a surprising Symbian Qt GUI with significant enough changes might be almost as cool as MeeGo :p haha jk jk Symbian fans.
It’s fronted by the new Dragontail glass, a contender for Gorilla Glass which (Dragontail) is said to be 6 times stronger than regular soda-lime glass. See video below. The back has a 12mp camera at the back protected by the classic Nseries camera covers

What is Dragontail glass?
I’d love to see this versus Gorilla Glass.
Does iPhone 4 have gorilla glass? (Web not very helpful) Shattered glass sandwich is a popular photo seen on my facebook timeline every 2-3 weeks.
N8 owners haven’t really had this issue when dropping their phone – perhaps just scratches on the front border rim if anything.
P.S. I’ll be out of the country this afternoon until Monday.

I was expecting to see one of the concept phones with Dragontrail glass screen
Now just waiting for someone to put in a SGX543MP GPU and a quad core A9 in one of these concepts
Classic, elegant and thoughtful design.
What’s the point of a multi-megapixel camera with quality optics if the lens is smeared with grease, fingerprints and dust?
The integral lens cover solves this (albeit at the expense of extra width) and if a magnetic switch is incorporated the OS can launch the camera app on opening.
My N900 has an app to offer a selection of apps when opening the cover: I can choose the from the standard or one of the uprated/specialist camera apps or the hugely useful flashlight.
Of course, flashlight will only work with LED’s so I’d like to see these in addition to Xenon.
Title says MeeGo but the specifications say Symbian^3?

Sorry, My Bad.
Glossed over specs as rushing about today packing and doing all sorts of errands. The UI did not look like anything Symbian before so thought it was MeeGo.
Goes to show all Symbian really needs is just some jazzing up on UI front.

But the phone was Symbian Based with Qt GUI, and not Meego phone concept.
I love Symbian very much and want Symbian new UI to beat the other OS.
Just release a new UI and feature to this OS, Nokia………..

afaik there’s no Gorilla glass on iphone.
there isn’t its Apples own concoction that’s supposed to be “like” Gorilla Glass
look at nokia press realese 28 million for smartphone&mobile computer not bad huh,
qHD is 540X960 and not 854X480.
Very nice specs but I think the exterior is a bit ugly. And instead of more durable screen, I’d like to see some anti-reflective coating, because my N8 is like a mirror without a matte screen protector.
