Accessories: Nokia N8 Bright Yellow Silicone Case.

How are you protecting your phone? N8 is known for being pretty tough. But it’s always worth adding a bit of protection with a pouch/case. A case sometimes, might even change the look a little.

I picked up a 3rd party silicone case on eBay. Very, very cheap (£2.49). I just wanted to try one out to see how good they were. The first one I bought was black (arrived after this one oddly) and then I saw right next on the list, this bright yellow and got that too.

It’s a silicone case and fits like a glove for the N8. Very easy to insert, being very flexible.  Even if you have the wrist strap, it goes on nicely. There are holes for all the ports – oddly they’ve even cut one out for the screws. This will certainly protect it from scratches if dropped, particularly the metal rim around the N8. That’s the only part I’d say was vulnerable. Better than a sock pouch as you don’t have to pull anything out and then you leave it exposed.

The buttons (camera, volume, power, menu) are all covered but still function normally. Signal not affected either (unlike iPhone 4 we won’t get signal boosts from casings :p)

Oh and it comes with a screen protector too. Not bad considering that’s already sold for about £1 on eBay.

I really like it. Being silicone, it has that faux suede feel And being yellow contrasting the black screen it kinda has this BumbleBee look. It oddly makes it looks like the N8 is just the ractangle iPhone looking thing in the middle. These things come in all sorts of colours, I’ll be checking out some more when I get back. We’ll see then how it fares against stains…it might be a murky green due to dirt :p.

Check out the gallery below for more pictures of the case.
